I would say you have a Montgomery Wards K38 Anchor line of stove. Difficult to tell with the limited picture. Research the K38-2 Anchor. I believe it was built and sold as a coal burner. Wards used a number of foundries so you will need to do some poking around. I think you will find that the parts will cost more than the value of the stove when finished.
On the top of the stove is the number 2.88.Montgomery ward is not stamped on it anywhere.
I didn't say it would be marked Montgomery Ward I said it was made for them and sold by them. The only actual markings would be foundry and mold numbers and perhaps the series name on the door. In this case I believe it was Anchor series that they sold. It was a low end but functional multi use stove. A complete but rusty unit can be bought for around $75 to $150. The parts if you can find them and shipping would make just buying a new or second hand stove less expensive.
nice job ....fhrjr2,
The originals had M over W on the top door and the Wards logo where this one shows 2.88. This was made after the line was discontinued and the molds sold or otherwise became the property of the foundry. It is most certainly from the K38-2 mold.
Thank you
