We repair vintge Daisy and Crosman airguns but have never have seen anything like this. It looks like it was designed to hold a flanged primer a littel smaller that a shotgun prmer. I've shown a pic of the hammer in the cocked position to show the extrractor. The only marking on the gun are the letters M.F.G. on the bottom of the receiver. This is a Flobert Blank Pistol designed to use a .22 blank cartridge.
I have one of these. I'm not sure when they were first manufactured, but they were still being sold in 1939, and advertised in a Stoegers Gun Catalogue for $3.25.
