This is a great bottle and having the tin makes it even better. What is odd is there are two other versions of prohibition era Old Chicken Cock that were distilled in Kentucky. One has a round label on a spider web embossed bottle and the other is in a typical pint bottle with a square label. Yours is from Canada from Distillers Corporation Limited. Another DCL brand that was also a Kentucky brand was Coon Hollow.

Typically, the tins were used to keep bootleggers from tampering with the whiskey. Contrary to popular belief, prohibition did happen in Canada from 1918 to 1920.

      Cheers!

A shot in the dark, but do you still have this bottle...I live in Chattanooga, TN so not too far from Jonesborough, TN...I would love to see this thing in person.

      Thanks!
