They all appear to be very well dressed!

While I haven't found anything on the well dressed children here is a little about your photographer

John S LeFavour listed as a photographer lived (according to the record I just found) for 60 years 10 months and 6 days he died January 13th 1892.

He died of heart failure brought on by Chronic Articular Rheumatism, a chronic articular disease of the joints. He was born in Salem and Died in Salem. His parents were William LeFavour and Elizabeth Shed.

I saved a copy of this record if you would like I can email to you, and I will probably find out more about him when my computer decides to stop acting like I have dial up lol.

OMG - look at the Burlesque song he wrote!

      DROP A TEAR, You Darkies!
      COMPOSED BY J. S. LEFAVOUR,
And sung with unbounded applause, by the Howard Burlesque Opera Troupe, of Salem.

Now thats a song you can dance to!

His name was John S. The song was written in 1865! The year there Civil War ended! Google him - he's got a TON of stuff referenced. He was quite the photographer and has many stereo slide & photographs in many scholarly collections.

He was listed in the Salem Directory in 1886 as a photographer.
