I NEED HELP!!!!!
NO IDEA WHAT I'VE FOUND.
Mahogany, table w/leather top and gold detailing. 1) fully open, it is card table size 36' x 36' 28.5 high. 2) two 8 inch leaves, drop down to make side table. 3) or pull knobs on either side of legs and the table drops to height of coffee table, 19 inches.
Can be used at this height with leaves open or closed.
Amazing engineering, no makers mark, only "pat pending" mark. Brass casters.
Any help would be great. Thanks
The pictures open up to small to see any details.
I can enlarge photo then expand. Depending on computer. Thanks for tring.
They won't enlarge on mine either, can't help if we can't see the details. :-)
How do I fix? Because I do need help. Thanks
What size of jpeg file did you upload?
When I open your photos they come up as (200 x 150), much to small.
Going to make new post with new pictures.
New pictures posted. Can find on my other item post, which is mahogany, adjustable table. Thanks!
what you have is a mid-century hi-lo table; from the photo, probably between 1952 and 1956. it was designed and sold by the Mersman company, which is now out-of-business. it could be used in four positions as seen on a few episodes of I Love Lucy.
the leather top was not typical to all hi-lo tables although it was very common to other Mersman tables of that era. I am an interior designer and design educator; I have been searching for this table for years and would like to purchase one. any clue where can I find one?
p.s. the table used in I love Lucy was probable not mahogany but black and white shows of that era make color identification difficult. Mersman produced a lot of Late Colonial revival furniture, generally mahogany, and often in the style of Duncan Phyfe.
If you need to make the pics bigger from your computer due to any small pic or print or whatever, just do this:
Push the *CONTROL* button down (HOLD IT) , and just hit the * + * (plus) button a few times to enlarge to as big as you want it. To make smaller again just do the same but HIT the * - * (minus) button back to original size.
Works wonders!!!!!!!!
Just to clarify the above, that is HOLD CONTROL button and then hit the + button as many times as you need to enlarge pic.
To make smaller HOLD CONTROL button and hit the - button
the * were just added to define the buttons, but you do not use the * at all...
I have a table that looks very similar to this. (It would look identical except.) The top is not leather and it opens to accommodate several leaves, then it has a stabilizer post for each end after all leaves have been put in. The posts go from the ground to the table top on both ends. (This table gets VERY long)When it opens it has incredible gear work. The name of the gear manufacturing company is inside as well. The table is stored away right now so I can't get the name off of it or get any pictures of it. It has the same knobs on the legs that you pull to drop it into a coffee table. Ive never seen another one. I was excited to hear about yours. I love this table. I'll add photo's and any written information that is located on the table- after we unearth it from storage.
Glad I found this post. I have a table very similar to this and have been looking all over to find out more information about it. I will post my own show and tell on it so you all can see it!
I'm about to inherit one of these tables from my late grandmother (I've been coveting it for years and my mother is finally ready to part with it). The one we have is like kilgorian's above, as it expands to seat many people. HOWEVER, unfortunately sat on it, and broken the wood on the lowering and raising mechanism. Any ideas on where I could take it to be fixed?
Purple, where are you from?
