My dad had an uncle who was a white-robe missionary for ten years in the Congo during the 1930s-40s. He brought back loads and loads of African art as well as things like this warthog tusk, a zebra-tail fly swatter, a crocodile skin sheath for poison darts used by the pygmies, and an enormous python skin. I have some of these, but a lot of it was spread out amongst many relatives.
The Tusk is cool, but what is the ceramic jar that it is sitting on?
thanks rocker-sd. i don't know much about the jar, but i've had it since i was a kid and i got it from a great aunt who had lots of cool stuff. the jar has scenes from one of dicken's novels on it. not sure which one though.
