    Does anyone have any idea what this item might have topped at one point? There is no name or defining marks...it is heavy..we think brass, but maybe copper?

    There are holes around the bottom edge where it looks like it was screwed to something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      It is 7.5 inches tall and 5.5 across at the base...
