richard bampi (* 1896 in amparo near são paulo, brazil; † 1965 in kandern, germany)
bampi is the son of german architect gustav bampi and moved from Brazil to Germany with an age of six. he studied architecture under theodor fischer in munich from 1918-1923 and afterward at the bauhaus in weimer under walter gropius and johannes itten.
he's an expert in organic forms and inventive glazes, and has been a main influence on the development of german ceramic arts.
the most profield pottery prize in germany is called "richard bampi preis"
