This 4.5 by 6.25 inch (11.9 by 15.8Cm) cardboard advertising item promotes a hot water heating system offered by the Rosemont Coal Company of Bethlehem, PA. Rosemont Coal was an agency selling Old Company anthracite.
Anthracite rendered the most even, most comfortable heat. And despite the inconvenience of producing ashes, its economical value made this grade of coal a good source of energy. Some people still use for it heating, and a few bakeries still use it to make their products.
The difference in taste & texture is clear in bake goods that come from anthracite ovens.
