This is a wonderful piece of art and lucky to have survived over 200 plus years and not smeared and damaged , Pastel Paintings are so fragile and for this one to be in such great condition is a miracle! The scene is of a Landscape , typical of what was being painted by artist during the 1800s that were using chalk ,the frame is lovely wood with carved flowers all around the boarder. The piece is signed E. L. S.
