Any info on the year of this stove? I don't know if it works. I love old stoves! I have a Westinghouse, GE, but have never seen a Universal.

Universals were made by Landers, Frary & Clark, New Britain, Connecticut.
Forget who made it....how did they keep a pot from spilling? House was probably on a steep slope and it leveled out.
lol we just took out out stove that was newer then this but same set up with the ilddle in the middle and a warmer oven ....love this pic.. but ours was upright ...' ;-)
should read .... griddle
The upright ones you use on flat ground. This was made for the right hand side of a mountain.
fhrjr2 you gut me rotf ...
lol that was a good one fhr :-)))))))))))
Universal STOVES were made by Cribben & Sexton in Chicago. Most Universal APPLIANCES and KITCHEN GADGETS were LF&C. I have a nearly identical model (6 burners, no griddle) that dates to 1945. Hope that helps!
My wife and I still cook on this very stove. Sadly I've broken one of the cast iron grates. Anyone know where I could find parts?
My boyfriend just purchased the same stove in the photo and is not sure if the griddle has all the parts to ignite it. Can someone with that stove send me a picture of the griddle igniter or does any one know where you can find universal parts? Any help greatly appreciated!
