This is a 1906 Antique Omega Converted Wrist Watch. It's hand engraved Rose Gold. Can anyone tell me the history as to where/how many were made?

Actually it's an example of quite an average workmanship. You can't tell when this was done as the serial number relates to the fabric movement. Engraving was probably done later and most definitely not under brand patronage. It's not red gold, it is electroplating over standard 15j pocket brass movement.
But it is also quite possible that the engraving dates to quite awhile ago, but the plating is rather recent to my thinking. Maybe they just didin't bother to repolish steel parts.
Ukrainian guys sell these in crazy quantities so I am starting to think some people do engraving and openworking on vintage movements nowadays.. Sometimes they have nice examples though, which inspire me a lot, but they are really getting crazy about fooling people to believe they sell original brand vintage watches (like having almost modern movements put into cases of their own make. Not a fair business they have.
