this is one of many antique trunks we have refurbished either for ourselves or other clients

this particular one we call "toady" as when we found her she was done in an antique green popular during the late 1960s

after completely stripping her both inside and out -- we tried something new on the lid -- this was the first time we had tried silk screening

the new fabric and trays were all re built and lined in fabric more suited for today's homes

I was thinking about putting a picture on the top, front or sides of a small flat top trunk, but after seeing your silk screening, this is a great way to update a trunk when restoring is not in future.

Why, I never thought of this. Blows my mind. My husband owns a silkscreen shop. And most of his silkscreens are on wood. Has been operating for 35 years. If I had not seen your post I would still be clueless. What a great alternative.
