While I was helping my mom clean up my great grannys house, I found these Mason jars in a shed that my great grandpa used for canning ! Don't know how old they are but is there anyone out there that can give me information on them. These are just 4 of the fourty four I found.
Thanks
Douglas Leybourne's Redbook is by far the best Fruit Jar Reference. Book version #s 8 thru 10 are all useful. Library's often have a copy. You will likely find all your jars listed there.
As good at the Redbook is...there is another that goes way beyound...it is a two book set called "Fruit Jar Works....it was written by Alice Crestwick.....lists ALOT of general information about each jar...and the back of each book is all patent dates and reference to each jar effected by the patent.....also there is a trademark reference that one can use to identify glass makers by their trademarks.....
We found some of these and sold them on ebay. Here's the best site we found for dating Ball Jars... http://home.earthlink.net/~raclay/DatingBalljars.HTML
