I will help you to identify but you need to upload better pictures, preferably a side view shot.
Hi have new photos of the ronson lighter, does this help you and more information about the lighters battery's.
The lighter best resembles the Varaflame Empire model made from 1964-1969, not a bestseller so is uncommon, described as "metal cover available silver-plated or chrome-plated with lighter filament section housed within cover, quite heavy as casted from metal and heavy silver-plated, 3-legged base with green felt pads on feet". - That is the closest model I could find to your photos. - If the sticker is still on the bottom it would say manufactured in Woodbridge, NJ.
Re: Battery - VR22 Battery is cylindrical, smaller than an AAA battery, measuring only 28.9 mm long and 10.3 mm in diameter, with a typical weight of 8 grams; however, this battery must not be confused with a similar single-cell N battery. VR22 Battery is an 8-cell device with a nominal voltage of 12 V. The higher voltage is necessary for the radio frequency-transmitting and receiving devices which this battery often power. It has a capacity of around 55 mAh.
VR22 Battery cross reference to the following battery:
Energizer: A23
Duracell: MN21
VARTA: V23GA
EVEREADY: A23
NEDA: 1811A
IEC: 3LR50
Panasonic: LR-V08
ELPA: SES-23A

VR22
