This was my Grandmother's. In her house since before I was born and that's over 50 years. There are 2 of them. They are very heavy but don't know the material...possibly iron. They look like little moccasin's and have a tiny cross on the top. Possibly ashtrays! Etching on the sides and top that look a little native american. 5"long x 2" wide.
Just looking for information as to what these are and where they came from!

Very nice item. I collected ash trays for years and never happened to see this. There is no rest which makes me question it being an ash tray (in terms of cigarettes) that leaves cigars and pipes which is quite possible. Thanks for posting the bottom view. I was looking for rotary grinding marks there which tells a story of it's own. I don't see those rotary grinding marks. I can't bring the images in close or enlarge them on this computer.

I can't find anything like these in my search of the internet. I've seen bronze shoes with the rest so cigars or pipes makes more sense. What do rotary grinding marks mean? Also, the bottom looks like it has a little hint of gold color in it. I don't know what these are made of but they are heavy!
I would so appreciate any input as to where these could have come from!
      Thanks!

If you have found out what this item is, I would be very interested. I am going through my grandparents items and have one exactly like it. I have been scouring the internet for the last 2 days when I stumbled upon this.

      Thanks

I bought a pair of these at a sale today. Identical with the tiny cross. My daughter suggested they may be clay - which seems logical if real Indians made these. These appear to have been spray-painted silver I have to know - has anyone come up with any information on these? I live in Georgia - just wonder where the other moccasins showed up.
