Found this beautiful Nippon Bowl at an Estate for a few dollars.
Most that I've seen have a design of walnuts. I'm not certain what this pattern shows. Anyone have a clue. I've not found an image for this bowl.
They look like hazelnuts to me. Regards William
William,
Thank you, I believe you are correct. I just image searched and it's a match.
Happy Holiday,
Kathy
Glad to be of service Kathy. Best wishes for the holiday season. William.
Nice to know it is hazelnuts. I just posted a fluted bowl like this thinking they are chestnuts.
Our leaves are the same but my background is pale green and has a gold leaf rim.
My mark is the same and represents a Morimura Bros item. Here's my reference link. https://myriadtradingco.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/nippon-backstamps-and-known-dates-of-manufacture/
Does anyone know if this is a unique pattern? I cannot even find a bowl with the same fluting or large feet, much less the gold rim.
