I love my vintage cooking tools.. cookie sheet pan, spatula, rolling pins, *&* of course all the vintage cookie cutters.
I've been baking more cookies than I can even count. Most have went to the school's bake sales. The cook and creative side of me has enjoyed it very much. I have been getting very good use out of the cookie cutters, that's for sure. I tried something different and really enjoyed it. I added allspice, ground cloves, nutmeg and some pumpkin spice to make a spiced sugar cookie. They're definitely rich, but yummy as well.
They look delicious, I like how you did the candy canes!
Thank you WS :^) such a lovely compliment and very much appreciated. I used a red gel food coloring. I did not add peppermint flavoring because most children do not like it.
Ok now you have to share them and send us all on CW some :-) Cookie cutters are fun and they look pretty darn good ! Merry Christmas :-)
Thank you Phil.... kindest wishes ever!
Hi Mani :^) I would be happy to, but the only address I have is Kerry's. I'm definitely sending Kerry cookies just as soon as I find the time.
I must protest, why the special treatment for Kerry?????????????
If all you need is an address we'll gladly oblige ;-)
LoL! Email me your address. Maybe I'll even make Jelly... never know :^P
The border security would just eat them ;-)
Now *that* is just.... too funny!!
Dash of allspice, cloves & nutmeg, about 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice. Email me and I will send you the sugar cookie recipe as well.
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:)
I'm just about to launch into baking. I have not had a lot of success with cut outs! Ginger molasses, lemon poppyseed, macaroons, something chocolate...not sure which...and what we obnoxiously call Elf Nipples...round pretzel with a Kiss and an M&M...delicious!
Come over and will bake together!
They all sound great! I would love to.
My son really likes m&ms & pretzels, he would love those cookies.
My sugar cookie recipe is a *no fail* family recipe, that I slightly altered.
I roll them paper thin, & they only bake for 6 mins. They don't last long!
They always eat them as soon as I pull them from the oven.
Happy to share with you, if you would like to try rolled cookies again. Just email me & I will reply with the recipe.
Happy holidays AR :^)
Thanks Aimathena.
The Elf nips are super east too. All you need is Hershey kisses, M&Ms and round pretzels...harder to find sometimes.
Heat oven to 150F, place unwrapped kissed in center of circle...heat approx 2 min until Kiss is slightly soft. Pull out of oven and immediately place M&M in center pushing flat. Cool. Eat. You can play around with various colors and kiss types as we'll.
I want an elf nipple... Aim with all those cookie cutters , you free handed some of them. Can't stop the creative juices. Now I'm hungry.
Awww thanks for noticing Thoscahaba, you're awesome :^)
I'll bet your house smells wonderful! For me that's half the pleasure of baked goods... The other half is of course eating them till your sick...lol...
Toolate LoL!! My son just did that today.
I made some egg nog. It has bourbon and some sweet creamy stuff. Sprinkled on some nutmeg and cinnamon . Then added more bourbon. Fire in the fireplace and Bing Crosby singing Christmas tunes. Trees lit, dogs' warm. Now if I just had some elf nipples.
LoL Thoscahaba!! Well AR was sweet enough *&* brave enough to leave the recipe. I already have another one complaining about a post and it doesn't even have any food or recipe's on it. o.O they're in a Bah-humbug mood, I suppose.
