Here is a cast iron bean pot (with tin lid) from the late 1800s that I bought a couple weeks ago at the flea market. I bought it because I'm starting to get into cast iron and it was 50% off the original price. The fact that it still had its original tin lid was a deciding factor as well because you very rarely find them with the lid anymore. And the handle is still nice and tight on it. As you can see in the first picture, it needed some work. I put it in my electrolysis tank for a day and a half and got all the rust & crud off and stripped it down to the bare metal (middle picture). And now after a couple rounds of seasoning (third picture), it's ready to use. It's bigger than it looks in the picture. It's at least 1.5 gallons. I think it's so cool that I'll be cooking in a pot that's over 100 years old. Can't wait to find my next piece to restore.
