These are my exquisite art nouveau book ends from a flea market in Barcelona. they are marble, on gilded wood--very heavy. Would love help on the year, period, and if anyone has a sense of an artist.
The other piece , I found in california, it is folk art I think a gorgeous curved metal replica of a woman's figure (another love of mine ) and she's a candle holder. x
The far right pic looks like a Ted Arnold LTD. candleholder?
I want to hear from Phil, Blunderbuss2, and my friends Aimanthena, Amber Rose, and of course FJR2R...
Tom, really, I'll look it up right away, I LOVE it and it was reasonably priced 15 years ago.
I just put mine up! =^)
and Tom, I love you!
Ditto! =^}
where tom, I can't find it!
It would be stamped on the bottom(pun intended) =)
If it's not marked, it still could be one. The statuette design is his exclusive style for people figures.
oh, I thought you said you posted yours! If so, can you help me find it, would love to see.

Tom, i checked for markings, nothing, however, from what you just showed me, and tahnks, it seems very likely, esepcially since he seems to be an artist withan utilitarian ethic, stapler for example, I just saw a scotch tape holder, paperweight... An mine a candle holder... that is a very very exciting discovery. My work is done here thanks to Tom (for today, that is!). BUt please new friends, don't stop, I'll be reading everything eagerly and voraciously.
PHil, they're from Barcelona, marble. don't care who did them, I just fell in love and could not avert my eyes, my father bought them for me, which was unexpected and lovely, we don't speak anymore. But he is kind hearted somewhere deep down beneath the angr, maybe like FJR2R, btw, will stop that bs now. Sorry guys.
Now, these I can get into & not even trying to identify maker. Not my field (whatever that is).
These are so gorgeous...love them!...:-)
Love both items. I just came back on to this forum more recently so I missed this one. They were not immediately recognizable to me and still cannot pinpoint if I have seen them for sure before. But they are your gems so you can recognize their valuable properties better than me. The hair and everything else about these bookends look more like art deco, beautiful !
