Here are my thoughts.
It could be:
A maquette for a sculpture.
Something from the 33 or 39 Worlds Fair.
Something from the Hughes Aircraft Company.
Your Thoughts?
Thanks!

PS. It is carved wood with traces of Gold Leaf showing from it's past.
Very nice ! she is either a stewardess or military woman and dressed like the 1940's with hair and clothes . And by sign she is a stewardess . Love it .

looks like her uniform :-)
Thanks for the photo. That sort of nails the subject. Now for the location!
Yes I wish it said who she was working for :-( but correct uniform is a start :-)
That looks like an Army Air Corps WAC uniform.
Except those uniforms had one row of buttons, instead of two...
Any New Ideas about a source or artist for this piece?
I still think she is a stewardess but if I could figure out what that was she was holding it might be a clue ?
Agreed. I think there is no Doubt. There is nothing in her right hand and a propeller in the left.
