Picked these up recently and found this interesting glass plate in the batch. It appears that this could be Teddy Roosevelt. Had it developed. Also, there several other pictures of well dressed Victorian era individuals. Also, this individual took photos of a lot of paintings. The most interesting one was Basset Hounds in a Kennel (I have the glass plate negative to this also). The reason being is it was a contemporary painting at the time this picture would have been taken and not necessarily none to be a valuable painting. Anyways, appreciate thoughts on Teddy Roosevelt or not...thanks for looking

You are the first to look at it and say no...everyone who has seen picture here immediately says it is Teddy...I have even compared face structures, nose, ect... looks like it could be him...but interesting that you vote no..thanks for your opinion..

In any event, not saying that it was him....I was just putting the glass plate negative out for people to look at, thought this was an interesting one. I can go back to glass ect...just trying to put something different out as you can see from my last posts. The picture of Hounds in a Kennel is a picture of the painting which was done CA 1903 and the picture would have been from that time period. Painting didn't become famous for years afterwards...Anyways, again, thank you for your opinion on this...

I am an antique photo dealer/ collector and VERY opinionated on "looks like images".
I see too many bogus "looks like images".
Take a look at ebay and you will see everything from "looks like" Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Edison, Wright Brothers, Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Jesse James to supposedly female Civil War soldiers.
Documentation and provenance is key to establishing an ID.

Scott, sometimes, documentation is not possible as such in this case. I know where the photos came from and where she got the photos. But I have no way to discuss with that individual as he is deceased. So the road to documentation ended there....
Exactly-- and that leaves us with an image of a "man in fox hunting outfit and moustache".
Without provenance (history of ownership), documentation can established through another example of the SAME image or an image from the SAME sitting that has been historically recognized as the subject.
