    Art Nouveau and possibly sterling silver. My favorite cobalt color in jewelry from this time. On the back it is marked near the top '83CS' and towards the bottom there is a mark that to me looks like a stick figure of a bird. Any ideas on what the markings might mean?

      Pretty Brooch! What you are seeing is probably an unclear 830S mark which would be the a European silver standard mark. Most likely Danish or German. As our silver standard in the U.S is 925, they have a lesser standard than us.
