Here is a missile nose cone that I've had since the 70s. I have no clue as to what this ordinance was used by... Jet, helicopter, etc. Maybe somebody can help with that. One of the pictures shows a wire on the inside of the tip.

This would be for a shaped charge which principle requires that the charge fire at a short distance from the armor, etc.. The wires would be to close the circuit to the ignition cap & charge when the tip hit. This is a really early version.
Do you have any idea about what year these were in use blunderbuss?
Hey, I'm no student of this sort of thing. The locking slots to fit the charge would indicate very early. We know pre late 70's from you. I could only guess, maybe 50's-60's. A length would help. It certainly isn't artillery, so must be for a low velocity projectile that may be shoulder/hand fired. maybe a bazooka it it is only 4-6" long. There are surely people here who are better qualified than me.
It's 20 inches in length and 6 inches across at the locking slots.
WOW! I kept trying to imagine the dog as really big & it never worked. The only thing I can imagine, is for under wing aircraft missiles. Glad to know the dawg is the size I 1st thought.
