    Sold by J & E Stephens Co...patented in 1877. 14 inches overall...the breech swings open to the side ,then a cartridge or shell is inserted ,the firing hammer cocks back ,and fires when pulling your lanyard....lucky boy who got this one for Christmas..

      Hope it's heavy enough so that it doesn't swing around when you pull the lanyard. That could be embarrassing! Never seen one of these. Know how many years they were made? Great poste for Xmas Day!

      Thanks Blunderbuss,.it is heavy enough, plus the firing hammer release lever, is set up so a gentle lanyard pull fires it....it's made for blanks of coarse, but hopefully Jr. doesnt get his hands on dads live ammo!!...somebody definitely could lose an eye then!!..ahh the good old days......I don't know how many years they were made.
