SaniDollFace
(1 item)
I have a mystery. I found this doll at Goodwill. I was in there two or three times and it kept calling me to it! Not even close to what I typically would collect, but it intrigued me.
ZOOM IN ON HIS FACE...
It looks like a sculpture. At first I thought it was Native American, but the more I stare at it, the more I am thinking it isn't Native American but maybe Asian. Maybe even something abased on an Anime or Book Character? I don't think it is very old, but it is different!!
Description: It is in a sitting position and is about 15" to 18" high.
Clothes: The clothes/robe/kimono/ghee is a green colored paper, like handmade paper. The earrings are wood.
Materials: I don't know the material the face, hands and feet are made out of. Hard Plastic? The head, arms and feet are solid, not hollow. The body, legs and arms are soft. I don't know much about how dolls are made, but if you look at the feet and hands, you can see hand carved marks on them.
Hair: The hair is blond and make out of a stiff fiber of some sort.
Gender: Not sure. Assumed female but not think male.
Markings: No markings found (so far) other than the label on the bottom - Made in the Philippines. Nothing on the neck, feet or arms. I tried looking under the clothes, but everytime I peek the robe/kimono/ghee tears a little.
Help?? I don't even know how to research it. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Sani
Looks more blonde than grey haired. If you agree, that narrows it down quite a bit. Think you can rule out Inuit or Afrikan.
blunderbuss2, the hair is definitely blond.
