This trunk belonged to my great grandfather who has passed away. He was a CN Rail station agent in Saskatchewan, Canada. There was a fire at his station and he lost many belongings. His aunt, who lived in Ontario (originally from Scotland) sent him the trunk with some wool blankets inside to replace some he had lost. The lock says Yale & Towne Mfg Company. There is a metal flower on the front. The bottom is metal and has very small wheels. There is a paper liner on the inside of the lid with a picture of swans. It is 18.5" tall, 27.5" long, and 15.75" deep. Other than that I don't know much else about it. Hoping someone out there can help me.

The pics look right-side up to me. Is it that late at nite or did I tune in late? maybe they will be upside-down when I look in the morning?

Lovely flat-top trunk from around the early 1900's. Standard shape size and construction for its time. A very nice example of a Yale lock. Nice swan lithograph as well. This trunk is a great candidate for refinishing however I do like the look of it in its current state. That "old world" look to it. There is not much more information to find about this type of trunk as it was common in its day and a lot of companies made this same model. Great story and heirloom to have!
