Hi guys :) hope you had a good Xmas
I'm hoping someone can help with some rugs I found.
I've baged them and froze them for 48 hrs so they are free from bugs but they are pretty dirty and need a good clean, I'm not sure what the best way to clean them with out damageing them, could I take them to the dry cleaners ?
I don't know anything about them, if anyone could tell me anything about them that would be great. Thanks
Hey Phatbuddha great to see you posting again! I have missed your "junkyard" finds! Hope you had a great Christmas. I am looking forward to some of your future finds. Have a safe and Happy New Year! Thrifty
Great find....
Hiya thrifty :) I had a great time thanks, just having a lazy day and going through my finds.
Hope you are doing well n you had a good time
I will be putting more finds on here soon, I've had some good ones lately, the junkyard gods must be shining down on me :) lol
It's good to hear from you.
Thanks drfluffy :)
I found a few different rugs lately all hand made I've just want to clean them up abit before I put them in here. Thanks again for your comment
love this rug. Very tight woven, many epi's. Has some value.
cis2you thanks for your comment, it is a lovely rug
what is epi's ? I don't know much about old hand made rugs, yet
epi's (weavers lingo), meaning ends per inch. The higher the number of ends of yarn per inch, the finer the weave. Cant really tell from pic, but appears the weft ends (yarn hanging out back) are hanging- this is okay- its just another method of weaving a soumac or plain face weave. Does it have damage? It appears to be old and very good design. Dont know where you live, but find a reputable dealer to look at it and give you a verble appraisal, etc...... good luck.
Thank you for your rug knowledge :)
This rug is in good condition with no damage just dirty
I'm in London uk so I should be able to find a rug expert and see what they can tell me. Thanks again :)
