I recently acquired this Art Deco scent bottle, and it's a mystery to me. Alternatively, this could be a snuff bottle. I believe I've seen this iconic deco image before, but I can't identify it. Can anyone help?
The bottle is a mottled burgundy colored glass, which is fairly heavy for its size. The size is about 3 1/4" tall and about 2 1/2" wide. The image is molded into the glass and is depicted on both sides of the bottle. I think it depicts either penguins, auks, or maybe peacocks. I believe this is European made, possibly French deco, circa 1920's-1930's.
Can't help..sorry!..but love the colour..love the shape and love the three stylized birds...:-)
Possibly Carved Cinnabar ??
What type of lid is on it? Any marks there?
