      I'll just add my 2 cents.
      I think this dates from the Post WWI era, early to late 20s. Could be French, but also think mid European, German or Austria.
      The painter was very accomplished.
      If I had it I would hunt down a professional appraiser, some big Auction house. I wouldn't quit until I got an answer.
      I'd bet the rent that is by someone important.
