These two items recall better days for Bethlehem Steel. The mug most likely was from their Bethlehem, PA works, while the tool check was from one of their mines, this one located in Morgantown, PA, which is near Reading, PA in Berks County.

Hi, aghcollect, walksoftly, and Sean…your loves are appreciated! The grounds in Bethlehem now feature a casino, and there were plans for a Steel museum there.

The works in Lackawanna, NY now are reduced to small fabrication shops. The coke facility and galvanizing plant are now mothballed. But right on the lakefront of Bethlehem's former plant is a large wind farm.

Ironically, one of the things that did the BSCorp in was their modernization plans. They could make steel more cheaply using new techniques, but these methods required less workers. The result was that there was no base to fund the Company's generous retirement packages.
