Sitting around with a foot of snow on the ground and balmy negative wind chills, I got bored and started wandering around the house. It then struck me that I have added a whole lot of decor in tiny little spots around the house. (hubby complains less this way)
First picture is the top of our wine cabinet. I have added the Bob Bellington sculpture, little sword appetizer swords, the silver dish that Sean wants so badly, and the gorgeous enamel dish.
Second picture is a little corner that I find that I have three (how did that happen???) kinetic sculptures. Two birds are from Japan and the ball one is Danish. TWO Lisa Larson giant figures stand guard...
Third picture is the top of my jewelry cabinet. I have FOUR pretty little Austrian trinket dishes (obviously have a thing for the footed variety) and what the hell are those gold things?? Oh, gold wired trees also from Japan. I know when I got the first one, I loved it...but there are three now...getting kind of forest-y...still love though.
I had a good laugh at myself as I thought I had restrained myself through 2013...so decided to share with people to would agree at all my restraint :)))
love this very very nice!!!!! beautiful pieces in there !!
You are a shining example of restraint for us Amber, - if this is true! Be honest, haven't you shown us things in the past yr. as "just found/picked up" that I don't see here? "restraint" or rationalization? LOL
I just don't have any idea of what you speak of Blunder. I am the merry model of restraint!
Yeah, and I have the Pope's private ph #!
Well he seems like a nice guy...
Yes, I buy too much, which is why my hubby and I came to the "Hoarder Accord of 2010". I can thrift/hunt to my hearts content but must keep a balance...which means a booth at about three flea markets a year. Win win. I fund my own hobby.
Are you sure that isn't Anonymous instead of "Accord" or maybe hubbies surrender terms? Oh, & the Pope just called laughing & asking if I had seen your "restraint" poste? Got to go as the President of the Conch Republic just called asking if I had also seen it? We are speculating on conch futures.
LMAO!!!!
SEAN, you should be used to it by now!
Heehee!!!!!
The restraint is qualified by the quality of merchandise. Blunder, you are familiar with that, I'm confident.
Amber, I'm quite familiar. I'm more worried about your "restraint denial". Think I have it! You have cabin fever & confusing months with years. I've read about cases like yours & sorry to report that there is no known cure. Hubby just has to accept it & pray for a cure! Meanwhile, I better not catch you in my garage!
Too late, already perusing. Hmmm....
Some beautiful pieces !
I love the third photo. Is that a tray on the cabinet or the top of it? I also love the dishes!
In my case, my husbund is fine with my collecting as long as everything fits into a box or a cabinet. I just got a new jewelry box and now I am looking for a display case for my collection of English tea cups:)
It is a tray that I found a couple of years ago.

My hubby's eyeball starts to twitch and he tells me there is too much "creep" coming in. I do off load at the Randolph three or four times a year. A fine balance.
Thanks Agram! Need to post some jewelry soon.
Love the tray!
I am thinking of retiring soon, and hopefully then I find the time and a way, too, to get rid of some of my stuff and make room for new treasures:)
Freiheit, I can send the address of my shipping agent in Miami if you need to dump some stuff or need an "expert" appraisal! "Limited time offer", meaning until the 1st one's birth certificate expires. I'm you MAN! I'm still trying to figure out what kind of idiots would trust their money to a guy named "Made-off".
Hi AmberRose, Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years! Also wishing you the best for 2014. Those are definitely cool items you have, and a interesting way of showing them off. I usually display my items like this, rather than trying to place them in"sets" or same groups. I am the type of collector that does not really have lots of the same items,(except for a few things), and I usually buy something that catches my eye at that moment! My wife actually bought me a building to display and store alot of my items in. She does not mind some of my items displayed in the house, just not in every available space I can find! I call it Thrifty's Museum! lol. Now I can display whatever and how many I want to, even though I still maintain my house collectibles. Maybe you should give you husband a few hints about buying you your own little museum! Talk to you later, Thrifty
I'll take a Grey Goose on the rocks, with lime please.
My hubby was not too thrilled with the "but me a building" suggestion. Hahahaha! His face was priceless! Oh my God, it was hilarious. But seriously jealous that you have your own sanctuary! Wow!
Rocker-sd...if we are trapped in our house with two bored kiddos much longer, there won't be enough booze to share. Still snowing hard. Guessing 22" at this point.
spirits!!!
Hi AmberRose The trees are for when you are stuck inside because of the snow as a reminder of what's to come when the seasons change. I hope you had a great festive season. I'm lucky My partner is the one that puts things everywhere it keeps him happy, if he is then so am I. self preservation. It looks great having wonderful items around it makes it homely. If your hubby doesn't do the dusting what's the problem. I know some people just like the sterile look. Have a brilliant year & please keep your finds coming. If only I had this site before all was sold. Everyone would of had a blast if you were allowed to sell on this site. Alas cannot & know longer have. Need more room to buy what I like.
Lovely collection AmberRose and beautifully displayed
