Open escapement, mercury pendulum, case is made of that stone that I can't remember the name of at the moment. Its on the tip of my tongue... Calcite? Its patent is 1898 and the script is fancy, different than the ones I've seen online. Thought Bruce would like to see this one
Oh, I really love these Green Onyx Crystal Regulators. I have a few manufactured by Ansonia in our collection. Yours was made by the Waterbury Clock Company. Even though the movement used was made under a patent originally dated 1898, according to my references it is from circa 1912. The model is called the Gironde". They don't appear to come on the market very often so why I can't say how rare this model is, I think it is safe to say that it is not common. Hard to tell from the photo but it looks like yours may have the red jeweled pallets in the open escapement. Another very nice example! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Wow you sure are knowledgeable about clocks, thank you very much for the information!
Yikes, I'd like to pluck that clock right off my computer monitor screen... beautiful!
