Just wanted to share my find at a local thrift shop.
A Josef Originals Pie Baker/ Pie Bird from the 40's- 50's.
Pie birds were used to help steam escape while baking a pie and prevent overflow. They were placed in the pie before baking. Though still made today, very few people use them.
This grandmotherly figure stands 3 1/4 inches tall. It is my understanding that she had a mate, a chef. I will search.
