Australia is only 225 years old, so when we find treasures like this one amongst family photos it's a real bonus. My father in law was born in 1916 and his family had a history with the horse and dog racing industry in Liverpool Sydney.
I loved listening to his stories especially how they painted dogs different colours (yes house paint was used) to change the identity to be raced in more than 1 race. He even shaved an Irish wolfhound to look like a greyhound and got away with it.
Mind you he was a very honest chap so hearing the stories from his younger days were a bit of a shock to say the least..
