(100 items)
Here are a few items from the Danish 'Viol' ('violet') glass series designed by architect Jacob Bang (1899-1965), brother of the renowned ceramist Arne Bang. At times they even worked together and created some beautiful pottery. The very prolific Jacob Bang worked at Holmegaard Glasværk (Glassworks) 1928-1941 and created several types of glass series, 'Viol' being among the earliest. In 1930 he created another well-known series, 'Primula'.
The most common colour is the brown shown here (usually referred to as 'smoke-coloured'), but the glasses can also be found in bluish green (as above), blue, lilac, and a golden yellow. The items shown here are an ice-cream or dessert bowl (height 9.7 cm) and four small eau de vie glasses (height 8.7 cm). Recently I found two cocktail glasses in a thrift store - it always amazes me that you can find such beautiful things in perfect condition in places like that!
VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thanks !
