getthatmon…

a "thing" made of amber suposed not to be a pendant.
shows the finely ingrained eagle of fredericus rex (king of prussia).
this heraldic eagle was used first 1701.
somebody at a heraldic forum told me that it should be an early work, biedermeier or even earlier
just because of the way the eagle is formed, especially the head of the eagle, which is near to the one used on coins and coat of arms when prussia was still a dukedom.

i was told as well that it's supposed to be a royal gift and i should ask at museums if the know something about it... i allways get itchy feet when i hear things like this.
even i don't think it's that old
something is missing on top of the "thing". it has been connected with something and a hard wooden peg is still on top. but what could that missing part be? and what's the propper category to post?
