    Found this different ceramic mug at a thrift store.
    It is heavy white ceramic and stands 5 3/4 inches tall.The happy Captain who is smoking a pipe is in blue.
    There is a printed on marking on the bottom that might read itali made in the USA 1272.
    Could this have been used for advertising ?

      As far as I coud find "Sea Merchant" was a registered trademark for a resturaunt chain and Hall did make restuarant wares.

      Thank you aghcollect. I did find that there is a Sea Merchant Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, wonder if the mug belongs there.
