Thanks all for your friendly comments. To Inky (and the rest too): mostly when you see German pottery that is industrial made, like this vase as well, the numbering starts with a shape. So in this case numer 290 was this perticulair shape (and made in many more glazes). The second numbering, in this case 25, is mostly the size of the height. There for you can almost be certain that this vase is around 25 cm tall (using the matrix system, as they use all over Europe except the UK). I also say 'mostly', because according to how thick the clay is on a vase, and also the type of clay used to fire in the kiln for a vase, it can mean that sertain objects shrink while they are cooling down after being fired in a kiln. This means that if in this case the numbering is 290/25, the vase should be 25 cm, but can also be 24 or 25,5 cm tall. There for you still need to measure every item before you put it for sale, but without the measurement (as now watching items online) you can atleast make out what the size should be.
Hopefuly this is some handy information, for all of you who still didn't know (which is fine of course, according to the growing community of WGP collectors around the globe ;-) )
