Loetz Himmelblau Glatt Vase, Prod. Nr. III-512/5 1/2", ca. 1914

This early Series III shape (ca. 1914) is found in a variety of bold colors, most usually in Ausführung 157, with contrasting colored vertical stripes and rim. This one is much more plain, but it highlights a color that is not all that common in glatt - himmelblau, or "sky blue". This light blue opal glass is overlaid in colorless glass. Nice ground pontil, fire polished rim. No adornments, just a nice quality Loetz vase that would look great with a selection of fresh-cut flowers.
