      Casing are made by several manufacture, the stamp and marking doesn't always relate to who made the watch itself. Looking at the "A" on the hair spring adjustment, would relate to other than US manufacture, probably Swiss or French design. There're a couple experts in the foreign style pocket watches that will help you ID this piece, I'm sure.

      Sorry, no idea who the maker is. Argent borrowing from Old French means silver, from Latin argentum “white money, silver”. Hope some of this info is useful.
