I purchased this chair probably 20++ years ago here in San Francisco. A very nice decorative piece for my 19th century apartment. Of course, no one can sit on it, even me because I'm just too tall. Because I liked it way too much, I paid way too much... just over a couple hundred. I learned that 'antiquity/age' does not necessarily make a piece of furniture or anything else for that matter, 'pricey'. Just the same, it was worth it to me though because it is charming and blends nicely in my Victorian apartment. Overall, the condition is very good with a nice old walnut patina. It does have a small, but excellent very old repair on the left side of the back rest. I have added a 3rd picture that shows a bit more of the 'patina' or natural wear of this rocker for some guy named blunderbust, or something like that... the chair is AMERICAN.
