These are both Betsy McCall dolls from about 1957 . Very Nice ! They often are found with a crack in knee or crotch . That drops their value . I love these little ones .
Yours are made by made by American Character dolls .
Several companies made a version of her and as late as the 1990's She was reproduced by Robert Tonner . Yours is a Original and these little dolls are quite collectible . Yours are in played with condition and not sure if the spot on ones face will come off . You can use a damp cloth and try to remove it . Just gently .They should have the original hair barrette in hair also .
      History of her
Betsy McCall actually started out as a paper doll in the ladies magazine, McCall’s,in 1951. She was an immediate hit, and soon after, in 1952, Ideal acquired the rights to make a 14” Betsy McCall doll. Then American Character followed with their 8" doll in 1957. Both Ideal and American Character produced Play-Pal size Betsy McCalls. Other companies that produced vintage versions of Betsy McCall include Horsman and Uneeda. Tonner Dolls, Inc. have been making Betsy McCall dolls since the 1990s.
Years of Production of Betsy McCall Dolls:

Vintage Betsy McCall Dolls were produced from 1951 through 1963, and the modern Betsy McCall dolls have been produced since the late 1990s.
Materials and Characteristics of Betsy McCall Dolls:

The classic 8" 1950s Betsy McCall dolls were made of hard vinyl; a few of the larger Betsy McCall dolls were made of a softer vinyl. The modern Tonner Betsy McCall dolls are also made of a hard vinyl.

Hey thanks very much Manikin, that's all very helpful!
I have a large box of mint clothes that go with them. I never had dolls as a kid, now I love them, but still these will probably go up on the chopping block!

The clothes should be sold separate . Sometime the clothes are worth more than a doll if they belong to her and are factory made. :-)

      Thanks again Manikin!
Yes I've sold Barbie stuff before, I know how much just a little pair of shoes can go for... I love old doll accessories, great detail and workmanship !!
