The DAV, (Disable American Veterans) back in the early 1940s until mid 1970s, would have this fund raiser. The DAV tags would be sent out to drivers that matched their license plate on their car. It would instruct you to place the DAV tag with your keys. If your keys were ever lost, on the back of the DAV tag, it would ask the person who found them to mail the keys to the address on the back of the tag at no cost to them. It would go to the DAV office and they would match the keys to your plate and get the keys back to you. When they initially send you the DAV tags they ask for a small donations to go for our veterans that they service.
