Jonathan and Arlene had a strong belief their talents were passed on to their children through their blood. The children were always encouraged to express themselves constructively through all genres. Arlene believed that a person should make a living from what they enjoy doing and she hoped to convey this perspective to their children and provide purpose that included happiness and contentment. Their youngest son Franz recalls “Mom always said if you make a living out of the talents that were given you, you will never work a day in your life”. Arlene, a Registered Nurse, encouraged the children to secure an occupational promise and attempted to direct the children into medical careers. However, Arlene was true to her convictions and permitted the children to decide their own destinies.
