Junghans Mantle Clock

A pretty Junghans shelf clock. ca 1900, was an estate sale purchase about 6 months ago. You'll see this particular model on Ebay fairly often... and it's not a terribly pricey clock these days. This one was 'tired looking' and definitely not cared for, but it had a beautiful porcelain dial, original finials, all of its decorative brass ormolu, and a good back door. However, it was missing the original hands. If an old pair of Vienna clock hands comes up on Ebay, you'll get into a bidding war for sure. Reproductions are available for a nominal price, but I don't want 'em. In this instance, I was able to barter with my clock repairman for a nice old pair. Yes, another movement that is in need of cleaning, but it's running. For the life of me, I could not adjust the slow/fast 'timing' with the original pendulum bob. Raise it, lower it, no matter what I did, it was running too fast or too slow. For the time being, I resorted to hanging a different pendulum bob. That worked and it's been keeping excellent time ever since. The clock has a really nice strike/tone. Dimensions are 19 1/2" height x 11 1/2" width x 6" depth
