Desktop Zenith radio, was my Father's. He born in 1910 and said he listened to this as a child. We're just trying to find out its age and possible value. Thanks

This appears to be a Zenith H503. It was a portable AM tube radio in the day. 1951 seems to be the consensus for dating this radio. Values will vary depending on the condition. Averages look to be in the $40 - $80 range. Are you able to find a model number on the radio?

No, I looked high and low for a model number but could not locate it. There's a set of hinges on the lower back but I have no clue how to open it. More than likely the info is inside. Any hints how to open it? Thanks

There should also be a hole with a metal ring outlining it on the back. I believe all you need to do is to pull the back towards you via the hole and it should hinge open. The model number should be printed on the right side of the interior. You may also want to check if there are any old batteries in it as these units were both AC and DC units.

Damn you know your s...! model H503, serial # J 568450. I see no batteries but there is a plug (4 hole female) hanging town that goes to nothing. May that be for the battery hookup?

Actually model number tag is just to the left off center.
