This doll is two piece. The horse and rider are separate. Made from silk, and what looks like burlap on the horse. They are both filled with straw. Just over 12 inches long, 10 inches tall. This was purchased from a collectors estate. They were 100's of dolls from all around the world.
Can anyone help me identify this doll? I am so excited about it and would love to know the history of it.......
I need close up of face and photo upside right . Is there any markings on dolls neck ?
Manikin is always undressing these things and now going for the neck. I'm not telling her where my birthmark is :) If Manikin can't figure it out nobody can.
Hello. Looked at the neck and it looks like the letter P on the back of the neck.
He appears to be German made Chinese warrior . What is body made of ?
The mans body is straw filled. I can press gently and tell its straw. The horse is also straw filled.
Being straw filled means it is quite old doesn't it?
He is certainly old I wish I could see his mouth ,do his eyes have any color to them ? or just gray . The China head is very pale and the cloth on horse not so much German look . I am researching him. Because I took photo and blew it up just now I am looking at him again . He appears to be early 1900's and seems like he should be part of a set .
Ok, his lips are red. His eyes are black. There is a grey line at the top of his forehead just where his hairline starts. The cloth on the horse is a burlap material???
I so appreciate your interest and help. I can take more pics tomorrow in natural light and post them if you would like?
He is a Chinese Tourist warrior from erly 1900's -1930's . Bought or sent from a trip on China .
