Metal buttons were a product for the wealthy and the rich. Common folk used ties or antler buttons. An officer's uniform often had pewter or brass buttons to express their rank. The buttons shown next to the mold were made by me using the button mold and lead free solder. They had a little flashing around the edges after pouring, which cleaned up without much trouble. hotairfan.
