I found this 1950s suitcase in Auckland, NZ and it is in great condition for its age. The straps are plastic unfortunately not leather but it is still so flexible - I expected them to snap off when I bend them but luckily they exceeded my expectations. There are a couple of stickers including "Port of Melbourne" on the case, evidencing in the olden days when people travelled long distances by sea.
I was worried the suitcase will not survive a domestic flight to Christchurch and thereafter 2 international flights, to Sydney and Singapore as it seems to be made of a type of reinforced cardboard. But it did. They sure don't make them the way they used to anymore!
I am not planning to use it for any long haul or big trips anymore, it has undergone its baptism by fire now. Perhaps I might use it for a staycation nearby.
Aim, thanks for the love!!
